Did the hotel make an error or are they going to bill me twice?

I recently booked a trip to VA Beach and Williamsburg for a weekend’s stay . The bill was $445 tax included for two night’s stay in VA Beach, then $117 for one night in Williamsburg which was fine for both . But when I checked my credit card statement, Williamsburg was billed correctly, but VA beach was billed for half the price they posted. I thought maybe they made an error and booked for 1 night, but when I looked it was scheduled for 2 as planned. It seems that they billed my credit card company for 1 night’s stay.

My question is, is this normal or a mistake in my favor? I remember booking a trip last year to VA beach at a different hotel and was billed for 2 nights immediately. So it seems they made a mistake, right or wrong?

Most places in Virginia Beach only charge a one-night deposit when you make reservations. So you’ll pay the difference when you check-in.
