₪₪₪ How can I stop harassment by a city housing inspector?
Due to storm damage, I have had to make extensive repairs to my property. All permits were applied for and posted. The inspector would not get out of the car but stopped work several times because they didn’t understand the work going on. They saw all blue prints and plans beforehand. Now the outside is done and we are working on the inside, so she sends a condemnation notice because of lack of an occupancy permit. It was explained that there was no permit because the premises were not occupied. How can I get this person off my back? All work done has been inspected and passed. Due to the interference the work has dragged out to 11 months. I only have a year to complete per the insurance company. Other houses on the block do not have this problem or have ever had to have an occupancy permit.
I don’t know this inspector and have never said anything to them. They take off if I appear, so it’s nothing I’ve ever done to them.
