What happens if I deposited the IRS refund check without signing it on back?

As suggested, I have deposited IRS refund check without signing it on back. Now my question is, will I still get the refund deposited to my bank account or IRS will not give my refund? Thanks in advance.

,,Can I have my tax refund or even my payroll check deposited into my paypal account? ,Am I getting my amended tax refund deposited directly to my bank account? ,What is the penalty for cashing an income tax refund check without approval of the beneficiary ? ,The irs kept my refund for back taxes. Will my stimulus check be directly deposited? ,Will owing back taxes prevent my stimulus check from being direct deposited? ,

Most banks that I know of require something on the back: a signature or “For deposit only”. The tellers will turn the check over to see if there is something on the back, and if not, will ask that it be signed. An unsigned check of any kind could be asking for trouble. If the bank clears the check, you will get your refund money.

Usually the bank will call you back on this one, even if it was an ATM deposit – for refund checks, they are required to positively ID.

The single most common reason for a returned check isn’t “Insufficient Funds” or “Account Closed” but “No Endorsement.”

SOME banks will accept checks made out to 2 persons as long as one endorses the check and the check is deposited as opposed to being cashed and both parties are named account owners. However no bank will accept a Treasury check without at least one endorsement, even for deposit.

If you deposited a Treasury check without endorsement, the bank will contact you and have you come in and endorse the check or just bounce the deposit and return the check to you.

they might not deposit it and will mail it back to you for signature – expect it in a week or so, further delaying access to the money – don;t spend too much and overdraw your account before that check clears
