What happens if you file your taxes late?
I owe this year and filed through Turbo Tax on Sunday. Little did I know they were rejected due to a small error and I just found out tonight. I fixed the problem and just resent them. Now there shouldnt be any more problems but I cant mail my state form (Form 40-V) until my return has been accepted for electronic filing. I wont find out if it was accepted until a day or two later from what Turbo Tax says, which could fall on the 15th… THEN i can mail my 40-V. But it might be too late. So what happens if it’s a few days late?

It only matters when you electronically file. So since you filed electronically today than you are fine. You just need to mail your 40-V soon after you file.
Have you ever seen, “The Minority Report”, where the agents drop in through the ceiling and break down your door?
It’s kind of like that.
Basically the same as if you never mailed them. You will probably have to pay a fine for being late. At the vary worst, you could possibly be audited if this has happened before in the past. If i was you, i would definitely check the IRS web site for more info.
If you absolutely want to cover all bases, then file a regular, hard copy, paper return by mail, just in case the electronically filing return is rejected.
